New JV dedicated to field seeds in South Africa

Zaad is proud to announce the creation of a new joint venture dedicated to field seeds, particularly maize, in South Africa. Zaad will hold a non-controlling stake in the JV through a combination of the field seeds activities of Klein Karoo Seed Marketing, Link Seed and Seed Co. It covers South Africa, as well as Lesotho, Eswatini, and Namibia, which require temperate genetics for maize. The joint venture is primarily dedicated to maize seed (white and yellow), an essential crop in South Africa with nearly 3 million hectares cultivated. It will be able to capitalize on a high level of potential synergies in terms of research, production, product portfolio, sales organization, and marketing, with the three well-known brands. Zaad will continue with all its other investments and operations inside South Africa and abroad.
